In the state of California a Dental Assistant must have their Infection Control Certificate to work as a Dental Assistant and their California Radiation Safety (X-Ray) certificate to be permitted to take x-rays in a dental office. In addition, all applicants for Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) licensure must submit evidence of having completed an approved radiation safety course. Unregistered Dental Assistants may now perform coronal polish.
Dental assistants that have the experiential experience wanting to become RDAs must have completed a dental board approved course radiology, coronal polish, infection control, and pit and fissure sealant. Your CE Academy can them these courses as an approved California Dental Board programs provider.
According to the California Dental Board, there are approximately 44,500 registered dental assistants (RDAs) in the state, which means the exact number of unregistered dental assistants is unknown, but it is likely a significant number as unlicensed dental assistants can work in California while still needing to complete specific coursework related to radiology, infection control and coronal polish as outlined in the California Dental Practice Act.
All our Dental Board Certification courses includes lecture and clinical application curriculums, instructor guides, and Dental Board application number by number folders with applicable documents ready to customize and submit. You'll notify California Dental Board upon each student's successful completion of each a-la-carte Certification course.
We will provide a few onboarding sessions for each course as well as provide marketing collaterals and assistance.
